Eleanor Young started off the day in Level 5 and finished in a superb 7th place out of a big group of 30 gymnasts. Eleanor also won a BRONZE medal for her excellent bar routine, a fantastic achievement. Her overall score of 44.150 safely secured her place in the Regional Final which takes place in Reading at the end of September.
Next came the turn of Emily Allen and Kirsten Holmes who were both competing at Level 3 although in different age groups. This was Emily's first time competing at this level and she performed well, including two new tumbles in her floor routine winning the Silver medal. Emily also competed a great vault which earned her top spot and a Gold Medal. She finished her day off winning Bronze on beam. She now progresses to the Regional Final.
Although Kirsten was the only competitor within the 15+ age group, she put in some great performances. One of the highlights for her was landing her round off on the beam perfectly. She also attempted a very difficult new move on bars. Kirsten has shown real dedication over the years and was very deserving of her medals and Championship Trophy.
